It's going to take a lot for me to keep this organized... that's not really my strength. My best effort is just to try and recount the day's experiences and see where that leaves us, so here goes!
It's about three-hundred and fifty miles from Denver CO to Moab UT. And it's all amazing. It's amazing that there are so many beautiful views. It's amazing that there are so many different kinds of rock formations in a relatively small area. It's amazing that the mountains are so high, I can't even see the tops from the road. It's amazing that the temperature chances so rapidly. And, it's amazing that we didn't kill each other in the car!
Thirty-two feet of RV really does take a lot of focus, so I let Jennifer take these pics. I did take a few with my real camera, today, but I'm saving that for another time. Every time we went around a bend, I was impressed. The views are just so inspiring.
Some of these roads were better than others, but I was impressed with the scope of the engineers' vision as they designed this slab of highway to both cut through the land and also to preserve what they could.
At one point, we were exiting a tunnel when I realized that the land had changed completely from one side of the mountain to the other. What was a dense collection of evergreen firs, was suddenly an arid desert with red rocks and short shrubs.
After we arrived at the campground, my first priority was to hook up all of our utilities: water, electricity, and sewer.
I cooked chicken on the campstove (after washing my hands) while Jen made some Mac N Cheese.
We watched the first Cars movie (it's like my favorite) and talked about how Lightning McQueen's had been driving in some of the same parts of the country that we were going to be seeing.
I went to the Moab Brewery and filled my 64oz growler with some very tasty beer. Did you know that Utah limits their beer on tap to 4%ABV or less? But they are able to can beer at the brewery with higher ABV values. Craziness. Anyway, I got my growler filled and some cans for later down the road.
If you're wondering about that last pic, it's a screenshot from my Snapchat spectacles. I probably post between ten and twenty times a day on that app. For one, there's no algorithm that filters or throttles my content (Facebook), and there's no need to pretend that everything is picture-perfect just to attract some fake likes (Instagram). Be my friend on snapchat (unless you're my mom or dad, lol) using this code:
Anyway, I made a promise that I'd get to bed before midnight (our time), so I'd better stick to it. Thanks for reading this! I will do my best to get you some non-cell-phone pics tomorrow! Take care:)
