No two weddings are ever exactly the same because no two couples are ever the same. That being said, I think that there are some things that I like to offer to my clients that many brides have loved. I thought this would be a really fun way to talk about what I can do within certain price-ranges to make sure that every bride has something to cherish for years after the wedding.
Of course, you can customize and create a package that works for you, but I’ve never been a huge fan of choosing from what is essentially a menu. I know that works for some people, but hear me out.
I like to court my clients - meaning, I like to win them over with the quality of my work, the ease with which we work together, and my steadfast dependability. Even though this is quite a process, I hope you will find that it comes naturally! If for no other reason, I want my clients to know that they can trust me with anything, that I have their best interests at heart.
I will most often break this process down into three sections: the Engagement Session or eSession, the Bridal Portraits or Bridals, and the Wedding Ceremony. The first step for most couples is the engagement session, though I have actually been contacted by two grooms, independently, to photograph the moments in which they proposed to their fiancés. After a successful eSession, the next step is to offer a bridal portrait session. I never go in for a hard-sale approach, but I think that most people don’t really consider how valuable this will be for their children, if they should choose to have any. My standard line of reasoning says, “Your grandchildren may get married one day and they will look at your portrait on the wall and know that they are inheriting a legacy of beauty, grace, and dignity.” One of the perks of having a bridal session is that I will always provide a large (24”x36”) canvas to display at the wedding reception. By the time we arrive at the wedding day, my couples have already come to trust me and know that I will be a resource at their disposal to handle any issue that might rise during the day.
In my next post, I’ll go through the eSession process and talk about how we can work together to highlight your personality as a couple. In the subsequent posts, I’ll talk about the bridal portrait session, the wedding ceremony, and other options that are often part of the wedding tradition.
